Frosting for the Cause and Winner of the IceMilk Apron Giveaway!

Happy Sunday, everyone! It’s a beautiful (and freezing) sunny morning here on Lake Ontario–a perfect day to share a guest blog post I did over at a wonderful website called Frosting for the Cause. Frosting for the Cause is a 365 day baking project that highlights a different baker/blogger each day of 2011, sharing stories, recipes, and decorating tips, all to raise money and awareness for cancers that affect women. Paula, also known as The Vanilla Bean Baker, is the mastermind and heart behind this cause, and I was so honoured to be part of something so special.

    Roooooosie, my lovely friend, listen, I don’t think I will ever be the same. I have neevr beheld such a perfect beautiful cupcake. I just saw your guest post and almost fainted. Even the cherry on top looks like a nugget of museum quality goodness.

    I am in total awe.

    HI. These cupcakes look so good. I would like to make them tomorrow but I am a little confused. I went to the post that had the directions and the methood says “Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites, AND the cherries/juice. ” However, the pictures it looks as if you should fill the liners with the cherries THEN pour the batter right over. Which is correct? Thanks!

        ok thanks so much. also, you said” 1 cup maraschino cherry halves (optional, but I choose not to include)”
        so this means you made these cherry cupcakes with cherry flavor coming from the juice only, no bite side pieces of cherry in the batter, correct? Is it best not to include cherries? Will it make the cupcake soggy and mabybe that is why you chose to use just the juice? :)
