A Little Video {an Official Hello}

June 10, 2012 - 107 Comments

Happy Sunday!

So I’ve busted out the video camera and I’m ready to start creating a few how-to videos for you, you know–for all of those techniques that are much easier to learn by watching, and just to switch things up from time to time. But, before I make my first cake video tutorial, I thought I’d say a quick hello. I’m actually not certain why I didn’t do this sooner, but either way, a message from me to you. And why do I feel as though I’m about to reveal myself to my long-time Internet boyfriend who’s never seen the real-life me? No, I don’t have any of those, but whoa–this must be how that feels. So, um . . . hi:

Sweetapolita’s Notes:

  • My kitchen is never, ever that clean.
  • My voice is about 1 1/2 octaves lower than you just heard. (Or at least that’s what I keep telling myself.)
  • The hair is usually wing-esh, but not sure what was going on there.
  • I feel like we’ve just taken things to the next level, and . . . I kind of like it.
  • Did I mention I love you guys?

I hope your weekend was filled with muse and magic, or at least a good slice of cake or two. ♥

I’ll see you soon with, yep, another video, but also a new cake blog post.

Happy Baking!

    I love you Rosie! I moved to Montreal from Los Angeles when I got married a few months ago. I miss all my favorite bakeries (and my family and friends)! If you visit LA, be sure to go to Sweet Lady Jane, Sprinkles, Huckleberry… the list goes on.

    Thank you so much for your blogs and recipes. I have been able to bake my favorite cakes and it has eased the adjustment to such a foreign place. I have to thank you for helping me stay sane and satisfy my sweet teeth :D

First of all, thank you so much for your generosity in sharing your scrumptious recipes, your attentive kindness in adding as many tips as possible for us not to repeat any errors you made while testing the recipes and for taking the time to write these lovely posts, sprinkled with tidbits of your everyday life and pics of your absolutely adorable girls. I’ve made the Dark Chocolate Salted Caramel Cake and your recipe for SMBC has received raves from everyone! Again, thank you for making my life that much sweeter:) God bless you!

    Hi Rosie,

    Great to finally meet you! I love your recipes and your explanations are so easy to follow. It’s odd, but before I saw this video, I had always thought of you as having a British accent. I have no idea why- maybe it’s the way you write some things. Anyways, thanks so much for sharing your fabulous recipes.

    Hello! Where have I been? Sadly wedding season is upon us and that takes up much of our time so I missed all these great video tutorials. So happy to see you take that next stop, it’s the new wave. Or say the cool kids say. More great things to come Rosie. Spot on.

    I just found your site while trying out Pinterest for the first time. I seen a pic and recipe that I want to try (Italian cream cake). I am looking forward to trying it. Your site is amazing. I’m a newbie at baking (to a degree, no pun) and at photography (Cannon Rebel). I look forward to scoping out your site more.
